Catching the Sunset
SHOAL BAY, PORT STEPHENS
It's funny how when we don't feel great we stop doing the things we know will help. I haven't been feeling great lately. Nothing dramatic, just too many priorities, too many demands on my time and feeling like I'm never getting it right when I try to prioritise. I know that getting out with the camera helps and all it will take is an hour or so and I'll feel normal again. Knowing this and doing it are two very different things (yes I should know better). Lately I've been making all sorts of excuses to not go out. The gap between the sun and the clouds is too big for anything to look good, there are no clouds so the sky isn't interesting, there are too many clouds and it will all just look grey. Tonight I went out. After another day of competing demands all I really wanted to do was fall asleep on the lounge but finally I went out (or was pushed out by my son.... thank you). And I was rewarded with this sunset. Magical. But I was also reminded that sometimes the best photos are not the ones we expect to take.... I'll post that next....
