I thought I would post here when I add a new photograph, painting or story to the website - not just so you know when there is something new but so you can also hear the story behind it (which is often more entertaining than the item itself!). I took this photo just over a week ago. With a storm rolling in from the south on the radar I was in a mad rush to take photos of it over Birubi Beach. When I got there, however, it was pretty unexciting. It had petered out. I had a hunch though the sunset might be interesting. It was only 5pm..... I sent my other half home (there was no way he was going to stand in the cold wind for three hours) and sat. For the first hour I was simply bored and cold (and a little soaked - the fading storm delivered a few icy knives of rain). I regretted my choice of a summer cotton dress and thongs immensely - none of it offered any warmth or protection. But from about 6pm till sunset I was rewarded with the most glorious reflections. Hard to take a bad photo. When Michael finally returned around 8pm with a single light jumper I was so incredibly grateful - for both the sunset and the jumper!
