Today didn't exactly go to plan right from the get go. Initially it had me rattled but it is the last day of my holiday before uni/work/life returns. I decided there wasn't much I could change but I could run with it. So I took the camera out thinking I'd get some cloud shots. But the universe seemed to have other plans... As I came over the crest at Box Beach I could see two very large birds hunting in the bush of the headland. Initially I thought they were eagles but after a bit of googling and a quick and anxiety filled lens change on the sand I worked out they were something very fine indeed. A pair of Brahminy Kites! They were so spectacular! Ok so I may have taken a thousand photos to get a couple of good shots but it was such a lovely way to spend a morning! I also learned a thing or two about photographing birds... Firstly, I get motion sickness after about ten minutes of trying to track them across the sky. Secondly, I never seem to be able to line up the bird with the landscape - they are always a little to the right or left! And lastly.... it takes sooo much patience! Oh well, I'm learning. A few more photos on the website and I've added another gallery with all the wild life I've been capturing lately. Enjoy.
